ABOUT MG

An iconic British brand with a distinctive octagonal badge, MG (Morris Garages), has been completely reimagined for a new generation of motorists. Founded in 1924 and renowned for its sports cars – including the legendary two-seater Midget – MG is synonymous with affordable fun for drivers seeking fully electric powered vehicles including SUVs and wagons, as well as conventionally powered models.

MG stands for Morris Garages, the name chosen by MG’s founder Cecil Kimber as a show of respect for his then boss, William Morris. Cecil’s vision to produce world-class sports cars quickly became a reality, and by the 1930s, MG cars were winning races across Britain and Europe. Early models set the benchmarks for their era in terms of light weight, power and dynamism. These three fundamentals have been at the core of MG, and today, MG is a motoring force to be reckoned with. This well-established British brand was acquired by the Shanghai-based Chinese automotive manufacturer – SAIC Motor Corporation Limited – in 2007 and re-launched with the financial backing of one of the world’s largest car manufacturers.

Still proudly designed in Britain, the modern MG line-up has received global acclaim. Although more family-focused today, the MG spirit lives on in brand new and innovative models with striking lines, comfortable and well-equipped interiors and sophisticated technology.

In Singapore, Eurokars EV Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eurokars Group, was appointed by SAIC Motor as the official distributor of MG cars in October 2019.

Propelled by the pressing challenges that are facing today’s population, the world is moving towards an environmentally cleaner and greener future. Eurokars Group anticipates an uptake in demand for EVs, and believes that they will play a big part in ensuring that motoring remains practical, viable and sustainable in Singapore.

As the largest privately-owned car distributorship in Singapore, Eurokars Group manages seven  legendary marques – Porsche, Rolls-Royce, MINI, Mazda, McLaren, MG, BMW and Pagani. In Indonesia, the group represents Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Maserati, Mazda, BMW (West Jakarta), BMW M, MG and Ferrari. Within the region, the group owns a Mazda dealership in Perth, Australia and operates Rolls-Royce dealerships in China’s Nanning and Shanghai Pudong.

Eurokars Group is today a well-established motoring entity, having grown substantially over the years to become a multi-franchise automotive dealership group. In order to cater to the diverse needs and aspirations of its customers in Singapore, Eurokars Group established Eurokars Leasing, Eurokars Pre-Owned and Eurokars Services.

Founded by the renowned entrepreneur and motoring enthusiast, Mr Karsono Kwee, Eurokars Group is synonymous with timeless and iconic automotive brands in Singapore and the region. Since its establishment in 1985, the group has enjoyed significant growth, with every brand under its flagship boasting a remarkable track record and setting new benchmarks.
